Undeniably the most accomplished, brilliant and understanding of works,
to date, dealing with Ian Fairweather (1891-1974) as both a compelling
and erratic person, and a brilliantly compelling and erratic artist.
Murray Bail has achieved greatness in this limited edition of 2,300.
Bail has created the most thorough, beautiful and devastatingly accurate
work on one of Australia's greatest artists.
He has taken a few liberties with his presentation of the artist's overall output, but I can put that down to idiosyncrasy.
